Character Information
Name:
Xavier Louis Jones
Career:
Leader
Affiliation:
Team Igneous
Gender:
Male
Age:
22
Appearance:
Xavier is quite…striking. The way he bears himself lets everyone around him know that he is in charge; he exudes authority. His eyes are a deep, mossy green fringed by dark lashes. His hair is a dark, chestnut brown that falls messily wherever it wants too and ends just below his ears. Xavier is of an athletic build, though not buff. He’s also just above average height, at just under six feet tall. On the inside of his left forearm he has “Dedication” tattooed in black. Similarly, on the inside of his right forearm he has “Sacrifice” tattooed in blood red ink. Both are written in simple script.
Simplicity is Xavier’s style. He usually wears a dark wash of jeans and some sort of simple, long-sleeve button up, undone a little at the collar, with his sleeves rolled up to his elbows. He also needs reading glasses that he carries in his shirt pocket. They’re thin and have black framework with rectangle lenses. In them he looks much more sophisticated and less…authoritative.

Personality:
Let’s get this straight. Xavier is not nice. Xavier is not kind. Xavier is not a bright, happy guy.
Now that we’ve got that settled here’s what Xavier is. He is very goal-oriented. He’s determined to have what he wants when he wants it. More often than not, he’ll also do anything to get what he wants. His single-minded determination is one of his many good traits.
He is also a very serious person. He rarely, if ever, jokes around and he would much rather get straight to the point rather than waste time with small talk. He’s a very cold person, who honestly couldn’t care less about anyone. He stands alone and is definitely not outgoing.
However, he is a very good leader, charismatic when he has to be. He knows how to talk to people when he needs to; it’s just a matter of wanting to. He also commands respect and even those older than him feel a sense of deference to him.
Furthermore, Xavier utterly lacks any sense of empathy. He doesn’t even try to understand other’s feelings. This is probably due to his arrogance. Xavier does, in fact, believe that he is better than everyone around him, which leads to clashes with other people. However he usually wins these clashes, if only because of his position.
History:
-Two Years Old-
“I have decided that I need a son.” Darius, Team Igneous’ current leader, stated.
“And that means…” Rasia, Xavier’s mother, asked. She was considered high-up in rank in Team Igneous, high enough up to warrant attention from their Leader, but she didn’t like the feeling of this. The only thing she loved more than Team Igneous was the brown haired little boy whose hand she held, Xavier.
“I have decided that your son meets all qualifications. I have decided to, in a manner of speaking, adopt him.” Darius said, watching Rasia’s reaction carefully. He noted the dismay that stole over her face before she let any emotion fall from her face.
“It is an honor, sir, that you would consider Xavier even a candidate.” Rasia began, then looked to her young son. Xavier had been quiet the whole time, listening. He couldn’t understand most of it, terms like “adopt” he had never been exposed to. “However-“
“However what?” Darius snapped, glaring down at Rasia, “I own you. Never forget that. I own everyone, including your…my son.” With this, Darius crossed the room to the mother and son. He grabbed Xavier’s other hand and narrowed his eyes at Rasia. “Let him go.” He commanded. Rasia looked from him to her son, and then repeated the action. With tears in her eyes, she dropped Xavier’s hand. Xavier, wide-eyed, looked to his mother for help. She had let him go! He then looked to Darius, who claimed that he was his son. Xavier, supremely confused, decided on a course of action. He stared directly at Darius, frowned as if displeased, and stated plainly.
“You will let go of me now. I want my Mom.” Shock appeared on Darius’ face first, then delight. He scooped up his new protégé into his arms.
“You’re perfect. Now we just need to train you.” He stated, and then looked to Rasia, who was still standing in the room, tears rolling down her cheeks. “What are you still doing here?” Darius snapped, “Get out! Morris will have orders for you.” Xavier, sitting docilely in his new father’s arms, was lost. Orders like that worked on all the other adults, he’d just have to figure out something new for this one.
-Four Years Old-
“Xavier.” Darius said.
“Yes, father?” Xavier asked, looking up from the book he was reading to see his father holding an egg and Xavier immediately understood. He jumped from the couch and hugged his father’s leg. Darius smiled, his heart touched only by the boy he had taken for himself. Darius knelt down and held the egg out for Xavier to take. Xavier grabbed it and hugged it to himself.
“What is it?” He asked, excitement latent in his voice.
“Wait and see.” Darius said and ruffled the boy’s hair, “Now I’ve got to go.”
“Bye Dad.” Xavier said, but he was distracted, too busy with his egg.
-Later That Same Year-
Crack. Xavier’s eyes widened as the sound resounded down the hallway and he stared in amazement at the large crack in his egg’s shell. Forgetting the other people attempting to use the hallway Xavier set his egg down and knelt in front of it, staring in fascination. More cracks appeared and then with one last loud crack, the top of the shell disappeared and Xavier stared instead at a small female Mawile.
“Maw?” The Mawile murmured, and rubbed at one red eye with its hand.
“Hello there, Lucie.” Xavier said, then hugged the Mawile close.
-Eight Years Old-
“So we have secured all holds on Iwa?” The question made the council uncomfortably, not because of the question itself, but of the person asking the question. Xavier was not formidable-looking, but the way he held himself allowed no room for questioning.
“Answer the question.” Darius stated. Xavier was seated at Darius’ right hand and the whole council, rather the whole of Team Igneous, knew that when Darius retired or died that Xavier would be next in line.
“Yes, all holds are secured.” Morris said. Xavier nodded.
“Good.” The boy-king stated.
-Eighteen Years Old-
The room went silent.
“You what?” Darius said, his voice giving away the betrayal he felt.
“I challenge you for Leadership.” Xavier stated, “If I win, you will be exiled forever, if you win, your choice.”
“Very well, my son.”
“Xavier. In this, I am not your son.”
“Xavier, then.”
Battle ensued. It was long and brutal, both down to the last of their pokemon. Finally, it ended.
“You are exiled, father.” Xavier said, panting. By his side, Lucie looked as exhausted as Xavier felt. “Go to Granite Port, go on the next ship leaving for another region and don’t return. Ever.”
And so Xavier took over.
